Computer speed stuff
A tutorial on parallel ports and how to write Linux device drivers for them since I was doing stuff to control a robot arm involving this.
You've heard the rocket car urban legend, right? Get the true story here.
Some software I'm working on:
- An X-based utility for Linux to control a Sony EVI-D31 camera. We have a few of these in our labs. Here is the documentation on the VISCA connector and the control protocol, and this guy has some useful info on his page too. Update: This is now in a working state. If you have one of these cameras and would like to have a look, send me an e-mail.
- NetLogin - The new Windows client. If you come across a bug, or would like to suggest a feature, drop me a line.
- An Identd for Windows Terminal Server - On multiuser computers NetAccount must have some way of identifying which user initiated a network connection. On UNIX systems, this has traditionally be done with an identd (RFC 1413), however Windows lacks this functionality. An identd for Windows XP/Server 2003 is available here. Read the Readme.txt file for installation instructions.
- Logging for our wireless network to tell us who does nasty things to it. Specifically, we collect RADIUS and DHCP logs and tie them together.
